Broccoli Beef: The Family Recipe

Results


Much better than the other recipe I did. A bit more gravy for this amount of broccoli might be nice. But I'll be revisiting this one again and again.




Ingredients

Prep DayDay Of
  • Ginger Root, 4 slices
  • Ground Ginger, 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic, 1 clove
  • Soy Sauce, 2 Tablespoons
  • Oil, 1 Tablespoon
  • Broccoli
  • Oyster Sauce, 1 Tablespoon
  • Water, 1/2 Cup
  • Beef, julienned
  • Cornstarch, 2 Tablespoons
  • Water, 3 Tablespoons






Preparation

  • Marinade
    • Ginger Root, 4 slices
    • Ground Ginger, 1 t
    • Garlic, 1 clove, minced
    • Soy Sauce, 1 T
    • Oil, 1 T
  • Gravy
    • Soy Sauce, 1 T
    • Oyster Sauce, 1 T
    • Water, 1/2 Cup
  • Broccoli, 1 pound, broken into medium florets
  • Cornstarch, 1 T, add to marinade bag.
  • Beef, defrost in a bag containing the marinade in the refrigerator.


Cooking
  • Broccoli, sauté under high heat for 1 minute.
  • Water, 3 T, add to pan. Cover. Steam until tender (< 5 minutes)
  • Remove broccoli from pan.
  • Beef and Marinade, sauté in pan until brown on the outside.
  • Cornstarch, 1 T, whisk into gravy.
  • Add gravy to pan, cook until boiling.
  • Add broccoli. Toss.
